Rather than provide my own answer, it might be useful to look back to the living tradition. In 1625 don Luis Pacheco de Narváez wrote a document that provides us with this information.

by TakwannAny fencing teacher can watch a fencing match and provide valid criticism and feedback. Regardless of the quality of the fencing in question, how your criticism is delivered tells the world what kind of person you are. More specifically, they get a window into how you might treat your own student.
If your goal is to humiliate and punish the student you are certainly welcome to say whatever you like, but I have a three-point system for delivering feedback based on my experiences training for the fencing master’s program.
