PUBLIC MARKS with tag opendap

This document describes version 0.6 of the OPeNDAP Catalog/Aggregation Server, a service designed to create logical groupings of individual data files.

The THREDDS (Thematic Realtime Environmental Distributed Data Services) project is developing middleware to bridge the gap between data providers and data users. The goal is to simplify the discovery and use of scientific data and to allow scientific publications and educational materials to reference scientific data.

Ultimate Citizen: Make a THREDDS catalog http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/content/projects/THREDDS of your DODS-served data so folks can view it with tools like the IDV. These are simple XML files that just tell tools like IDV the protocol and location of the data. Check out an example at: http://cove.whoi.edu/~rsignell/adria-models.xml

Useful for opendap server plugins.

I think one day xmlrpc will replace the DODS protocol.
