Bug #292504 in gnome-exe-thumbnailer (Ubuntu): “Use embedded icons for executable files”

by sylvainulg (via)
* gnome-exe-thumbnailer (5.3 KiB, text/plain) And here's the script itself (public domain, by qaaq on Ubuntu Brainstorm). It doesn't seem to work on most icons. I changed the install instructions a little to re-use the built-in MIME type: ---- sudo apt-get install sharutils icoutils sudo cp gnome-exe-thumbnailer /usr/local/bin sudo chmod a rx /usr/local/bin/gnome-exe-thumbnailer gconftool-2 --set /desktop/gnome/thumbnailers/application@x-ms-dos-executable/command --type string "/usr/local/bin/gnome-exe-thumbnailer %i %o" gconftool-2 --set /desktop/gnome/thumbnailers/application@x-ms-dos-executable/enable --type boolean true

Remastersys - Cedynamix

by camel & 1 other (via)

NagiosExchange: Categories: Utilities

by camel
This Script is coded to install the latest Nagios-Version (CVS) and the Nagios Plugins 1.4.11 automatically! It's meant to be a help for testing, searching bugs or simply to install Nagios and the Plugins without harking back to the Ubuntu-Package. First the dependencies will be fixed, missing packages will be installed via apt. The next step is adding the groups and user which are necessary for Nagios. After that the latest Nagios Tarball will be downloaded and installed. If errors occur while the installation process you have to kill the script (Ctrl c) and fix it manually. After that you can run the script again. Then the standard-user (named "nagios") for the Frontend will be created and you will be asked to set a password for it. Done, Nagios is installed. Now the plugins are going to be installed. Same procedure, downloading, configuring, installing. I tried to meet all requirements, so that every plugin will be compiled, but i did'nt check it. Have fun.

Create Disk Usage Reports with durep -- Ubuntu Geek

by camel
urep is a perl script used for disk usage reports. It can generate text output with bar graphs to allow easy comparisons of disk usage between directories. It can also generate web pages which can be navigated through the directory structure. This allows easy visual monitoring of disk usage. durep was designed for monitoring disk usage in a more visual way than du. The du program works fine but doesn’t allow a lot of control over how the results are displayed. This perl script is designed to produce output more useful for reports.
