E veniamo alla novità più interessante di Thunderbird 2.0: le etichette. Nelle vecchie versioni di Thunderbird le etichette da poter usare erano cinque, personalizzabili finché si voleva, ma sempre cinque rimanevano; nella nuova versione il numero di etichette è illimitato :-D.
Nella versione inglese è anche cambiato il loro nome da label a tag che meglio descrive il loro funzionamento. Chi ha esperienza di social bookmarking saprà sicuramente cosa sono i tag e quanto più flessibili siano delle normali etichette. E' ora possibile marcare la mail con più tag e questo faciliterà moltissimo le ricerche delle email e la loro classificazione.
