Border park De Zoom – Kalmthoutse Heide (in Dutch and in short Grenspark ZK) is a cross-border nature reserve with many pools, heath land, inland dunes and vast forests. The whole area measures 3750 ha (9375 acres) and is home to some real ecological treasures. Moreover, the entire park constitutes a landscape of great cultural-historical value. The area is cut into two by the Belgian-Dutch border and is owned by a variety of bodies and parties. Along the areas belonging to the Dutch and Flemish authorities, one can find large private estates, small scale agricultural areas and small forest properties scattered all over the region.
