BlueBlog: Sneak Peek

Image by Andrewi709 via Flickr Strike up the Band for Adaptive Blue Glue-UCLA In 1936, UCLA students were looking for a new rally tune. George and Ira Gershwin had moved from New York to Beverly Hills to work in Los Angeles on the Fred Astaire movie Shall We Dance. Maxson Judell, a music industry contact, approached them about contributing a song to UCLA.[1] The Gershwins made a gift of the song to the University of California, Los Angeles. Ira Gershwin revised the lyrics and called the new version "Strike Up the Band for UCLA."[2] From that time, it became one of the primary school songs, and even served as the leitmotif and rally song for the school teams until Sons of Westwood and later Mighty Bruins became school songs.[1] The UCLA Band currently plays an arrangement of "Strike Up the Band for UCLA" as part of each UCLA Bruins football pregame show and at home basketball games.[1] The George and Ira Gershwin Award is presented annually at UCLA during "UCLA Spring Sing" at the Los Angeles Tennis Center on campus. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page BlueBlog: Sneak P

Contextual Web Will Blossom in 2009 But When and How Will Google Take Part? By Clint Boulton 2009-01-07 Cutting-edge startups have not been so quiet. Programmers like Alex Iskold, founder and CEO of Adaptive Blue, are helping to foster this vision of the contextual Web. Iskold told eWEEK that in the contextual Web, users will do a Google search once and receive additional information from a browser or Web site. Iskold explained: By Clint Boulton 2009-01-07 Contextual Web Will Blossom in 2009 But When and How Will Google Take Part?.

Shout out for the NYC ! The Apple Rules as a reference point for Digital Technology ! “5 Things I Love About Glue I have been using Glue for a couple of weeks now, and I absolutely love it. If you stay current with Firefox add-ons, you probably already have Glue, and you understand how cool it is. If you don’t keep up with new add-ons, or don’t even know what a Firefox add-on is (or what Firefox is, for that matter) here are five reasons why you should get on Glue:!” andrew.tumblr http://tumblr.andrewabshere.com/ BlueBlog: Andrew Abshere Discusses Glue Now and Tomorrow.

AdaptiveBlue Launches Glue to Show You Who’s Visiting What on the Web Top Notch Article by Adam Ostrow on Glue- NewsResourcesSocial NetworkingStartupsMobileSportsMusicPoliticsCelebrities © 2006-2008 Mashable! AdaptiveBlue Launches Glue to Show You Who’s Visiting What on the Web October 28, 2008 - 9:00 am PDT - by Adam Ostrow 10 Comments Semantic Web startup AdaptiveBlue is launching a new service today called Glue. The concept is sort of similar to MyBlogLog – showing recent visitors to a certain webpage – except it’s more like recent visitors to a given concept. So, for example, if you’re looking at the Wikipedia entry for the movie Iron Man, the Glue bar will show people that have visited webpages about Iron Man all around the Net, for example, on Netflix or IMDB. This all works through a combination of a Firefox add-on (Get Glue), AdaptiveBlue’s contextual technology, and analyzing your existing social networks on services like Facebook, Twitter, and Friendfeed. In turn, if you’re visiting the Iron Man page on Wikipedia, you’ll see which of your friends from those sites (who have also installed Glue) have explored Iron Man content, with options to see additional metadata like comments, reviews, or “likes.” Additionally, Glue wants to help you discover new people, so you’ll see other members of Glue who are interested in the concept you’re viewing. This screencast explains how it all works a bit more in-depth: AdaptiveBlue Launches Glue to Show You Who’s Visiting What on the Web.
