WGRIB is a program to manipulate, inventory and decode GRIB files. The program is known to work on machines ranging from 486s to Cray supercomputers.

Grib2ctl takes GRIB files and makes GrADS control files

The Grid Analysis and Display System (GrADS) is an interactive desktop tool that is used for easy access, manipulation, and visualization of earth science data. The format of the data may be either binary, GRIB, NetCDF, or HDF-SDS (Scientific Data Sets). GrADS has been implemented worldwide on a variety of commonly used operating systems and is freely distributed over the Internet.

Il existe de très bons logiciels pour les visualiser sour Ms. Windows, comme MaxSea, Scanav, Ugrib, et bien d'autres. Sous linux, et Debian en particulier, c'est un peu plus compliqué. Je n'ai jamais pu faire fonctionner WindPlot. J'utilse depuis longtemps GRADS mais je cherchais toujours une solution simple pouvant être conseillée et utilisée sur toutes infrastructures. Je viens donc de décourir Viperfish. Comme il est basé sur Java, sun-java ( ou autre ) devra donc être déjà installé sur votre distribution."
