Ce mois-ci, je vais vous présenter l'univers passionnant de BizTalk Server 2006 et sa prise en charge pour les technologies de services Web d'aujourd'hui. Vous apprendrez à utiliser les adaptateurs SOAP et WSE (Web Services Enhancements) déjà disponibles et je vous parlerai du nouvel adaptateur Windows® Communication Foundation (WCF) inclus dans BizTalk® Server 2006 R2.

Almost everyone has at least heard of SOAP. Few people have heard of REST. But both are jockeying for the mindshare of developers trying solve problems building applications on the web. REST by virtue of existing, and SOAP largely by virtue of backing by software vendors and standards bodies.

Called Synapse, the Apache-sponsored project aims to define code for a distributed web services intermediary, to handle connectivity, transformation and routing of messages as they flow between service providers and consumers.

This plugin is embedded into Eclipse and enables modelling and designing your Web Services interface contract without having to reveal to know all nittry-gritty - and honestly: unnecessary - details of WSDL 1.1. It uses our very successful WSCF, namely the WSDL Wizard component.

We are creating an uncompromising middleware platform for Web services which treats Web services as first class components instead of as a facade to some existing platform like J2EE
