Intel has introduced Oak Trail platform, for tablets and other fanless mobile devices. The platform consists of Atom Z650 and Z670 “Lincroft” microprocessors, built on 45nm technology, coupled with SM35 Express chipset, and supports several popular mobile operating systems, including Android, MeeGo and Windows.

New Intel Celeron Sandy Bridge CPUs Coming in Q3 2011

Intel is expected to officially introduce three new Celeron desktop Sandy Bridge CPUs, in the third quarter of this year – the Celeron G440, G530 and G540 CPUs. The chips will not support Turbo Boost, Hyper Threading, AVX and AES-NI instructions or any other advanced Intel technology.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ to 6400+ Upgrade Review

I have replaced an old Athlon 64 X2 4200+ at 2.2GHz with the 6400+ in a Windows Vista desktop PC machine featuring the Asus M2N-E SLI motherboard, 2GB of 800MHz DDR2 memory, the Asus EAH3850 512MB video card, and a Cooler Master 620W power supply. The performance improvement after this upgrade is significant and goes up to 46 percent in some tests.
