IPOL : Recherche reproductible en traitement d’images Image Processing On Line—est un journal qui publie des articles en traitement d’images mathématique. Il est un cas extrême de recherche reproductible : non seulement chaque article contient son code source examine par les rapporteurs, mais il y a aussi un site web o`u les lecteurs peuvent essayer l’algorithme avec leurs propres images. De plus, il y a un archive avec les résultats de toutes les expériences antérieures des lecteurs. Dans cet exposé nous expliquons la raison d’être d’IPOL et quels sont les avantages et inconvénients d’un système tellement ouvert. Le principal avantage est qu’il est un journal beaucoup apprécie par les lecteurs : les articles IPOL sont très cités, et le code source est utilise et même parfois intégré dans des bibliothèques de traitement d’image (dont OpenCV). Le principal inconvénient serait que les auteurs potentiels hésitent parfois a publier son code source, qu’ils jugent trop expérimental. Mais tous les auteurs le reconnaissent : on apprend beaucoup sur son propre algorithme en regardant ses résultats sur une collection d’images qui devient de plus en plus grande. Ca fait que les articles d’IPOL—même les plus anciens—soient toujours vivants.
