How About this New Form Of Communication!
“This week we moved into our new offices in New York City. Among the highlights, is a giant wall of headlines. Richard Edelman gives us a tour.
There’s something about headlines that still gives me goosebumps. I hope that even in the age of streams, headlines don’t lose their punch.
Another noteworthy item in our new offices is a giant HP Touchsmart PC. I had a chance to play with it the other day and will shoot some video to share next week. (HP is an Edelman client.)!” Steve Rubel

“(WXYZ) — While state leaders continue to bicker over how best to deal with Michigan’s budget shortfall, plenty of sacrifices are needed. But our Chief Investigative Reporter Steve Wilson has new information that shows some are sacrificing more than others.

If you were thinking perhaps our state legislators, the second highest-paid in the country, are out front to experience the same financial sacrifice as most other state employees facing drastic cutbacks and furloughs, think again.
Like so many others, Amanda and Paul Tefft are struggling hard to survive the economic crisis in Michigan, even as the couple awaits the birth of their second child expected Christmas Eve, a baby brother for little Natalie who’s just two.!” Contributor: Ross Jones

Jean-Baptiste Frédéric Isidor, Baron Thielemans (born Brussels, 29 April 1922), known as Toots Thielemans, is a Belgian jazz musician well known for his guitar and harmonica playing as well as his highly accomplished professional whistling.
Perhaps best known for his 1962 hit single "Bluesette," he is often cited by jazz aficionados and critics[1] as the greatest jazz harmonica player.

'On a Note of Triumph' : NPR

'On a Note of Triumph' : NPR
Norman Corwin
Image via Wikipedia
Greatest Radio Show Ever
As the end of World War II in Europe came in sight, Norman Corwin was asked to prepare a special broadcast, to be held ready for V-E Day. This is that broadcast. It is Corwin's masterpiece. Even after half a century, it is arguably the finest use of the radio medium ever achieved.
"… a vast announcement, a terrific interrogatory,
one of the all-time great American poems."
– Poet Carl Sandburg
NPR.org, May 26, 2005 · On May 8, 1945, 60 million Americans tuned in to hear On A Note of Triumph, Norman Corwin's radio masterpiece marking the end of World War II in Europe. Lauded by Carl Sandburg as "one of the all-time great American poems," it was the most listened-to radio drama in U.S. history.
In the 1950’s I majored in Radio Tv and Film at the university of Miami [Fla] there were a lot of very talented folks in school with me, and one afternoon Dave Madden a classmate of mine who in later years was in the Partridge Family and Laugh In, listened to On A note Of Triumph-This was what radio used to be-it is important that if you study Communication Arts today you should listen to this-I follow Dave Winer on the internet and he seems to be a follower of all forms of media this is important to all of us-with the collapse of the Old Media we need a reference point- Norman Corwin celebrated his 97th birthday on May 3, 2007, and today lives in Los Angeles, keeping busy as always. He is still writing for radio, and is writer in residence at the Journalism School at USC. He writes articles for various publications, and is active in various organizations in and around the Los Angeles area.
I really approve of this message-so did Lamont Cranston-The Shadow
he Shadow is a collection of serialized dramas, originally on 1930s radio and then in a wide variety of media, that follow the exploits of fictional vigilante The Shadow.[2] One of the most famous pulp heroes of the 20th century, The Shadow has been featured in comic books, comic strips, television, video games, and at least seven motion pictures. The radio drama is well-remembered for those episodes voiced by Orson Welles.

Time to be Frank
A fun place where I can share thoughts on a variety of topics in my life!
What do you get when you add together Ian Schafer, Brian Morrissey and Gary Vaynerchuk? A lively discussion on social media and business participation. Immediately when I viewed the video on Friday I knew I wanted to take the opportunity to share it here. Not only are they great minds when it comes to social media, they make points that every business needs to hear. A few weeks ago I did a presentation about business blogging and the person that represents that to me? GaryVee. Not that every business should act the same way he does, that is not the point of social media. We should not try to be someone we are not. In my opinion the key to Gary’s success is his passion. That is what it is all about. I have a passion for Customer Service, and that comes out in everything I do." Frank eliason-

There a few bloggers on the internet who besides creating excellent Technical Content give us a human view of life. This- in our world is becoming very important- since communication is becoming text messages micro blogging applications and the cell phone-The only new form of communication in our digital age I find imposing is the cellphone-but that’s me. Content Creators that give us a view of family life are Bill Israel Cubicle 17 -Louis Gray Chris Brogan Frank Eliason and Mr Wilson- I am sure there are more Bill Israel on his Tumblog Cubicle 17 had a great thanksgiving video clip-
Being born before most of my reader’s (1936) We had family life yes good or bad everyone ate -
together and we wrestled out the day ! My Grandfather was President of an Orthodox Synagogue-
and we ate at his house every Friday, before sunset,-winter was tough cause dinner was at 4:00pm- Louis Grey has a couple of cute kids and if Alfred Korzybski was around he would have marveled at the dialogues Mr Gray has recorded on one of the kids, Korzybskiwas born in Warsaw, Congress Poland. He came from an aristocratic family whose members had worked as mathematicians, scientists, and engineers for generations. He learned Polish at home and Russian in the schools; and having a French governess and a German governess, he became fluent in these four languages as a child.
“It's Josh's 13th birthday today. He's a valentines day baby.
We spent his birthday skiing and boarding in Keystone Colorado where we are staying with our friends Brad and Amy.
The Gotham Gal and I gave Josh a flip cam for his birthday and he's having a lot of fun with it.
This video is telling on several levels:!” fred Wilson
